


The common theme / goal here is to promote independent thought and make it easier for small to midsize business to complete in an economy dominated by mega cap companies, such as Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Apple and Amazon. I’m not exactly sure how this fits within the ugly world painted by the futuristic book “ 1984“, by George Orwell first published in 1949 which hits on topics like “Big Brother”, government and independent thinking, but perhaps someone else can explain. In general, the concept here is that if there is a high degree of transparency, illegal acts may not occur. I got the original idea form the 1992 movie “ Sneakers“, which is a tech-thriller from director Phil Alden Robinson, where a group of five renegade computer hackers, led by Martin Bishop (Robert Redford), are hired by the government to steal a black box, containing a code-breaking machine, from the mathematician who invented the device.
